About Best Restaurant Colorado
An independent, award-based guide to Colorado's restaurants, published in Denver.
Best Restaurant Colorado maps every restaurant in the state that the MICHELIN Guide or the James Beard Foundation has recognized, and then helps you plan meals and trips around them. Zach Wennstedt writes and edits it. The publisher is Eye To Ad Media, the Denver firm he founded, operating as Search Converts LLC.
What the site does
Most "best restaurants" lists are someone's opinion. This one runs on a rule. A restaurant appears in our register only if it holds a current MICHELIN Guide Colorado distinction or recent James Beard Foundation recognition. We then organize those restaurants in ways that help a traveler: by town and elevation, by region, by route, and by season. The rule keeps the list honest; the guides make it useful.
We cover the whole state. Denver, which holds more than half of Colorado's recognized restaurants, has its own deeper coverage on our sister site, Best Restaurant Denver. This site focuses on the mountains, the Front Range beyond Denver, the Western Slope and the roads between them.
Our limits, stated plainly
- Money cannot buy a listing, a better position or a kinder sentence.
- There are no house ratings here: no stars, scores or reviews from us.
- Opening times, menus with prices and phone numbers are left out because they go stale quickly; instead each entry points to the restaurant's own site when we could confirm it.
- We have not dined at every listed restaurant and do not pretend otherwise. The job is accurate reporting of recognition, explained well.

Who is behind it
Zach Wennstedt is a Denver-based publisher and the founder of Eye To Ad Media, which builds and runs websites for Colorado businesses and publishes a small network of Colorado travel guides, including Colorado What's Up and Best Restaurant Denver. He edits this site and is responsible for its content.
